Having an employee suggestion box can help transform a company. Employees can have great ideas that can lower costs, increase revenues, improve efficiency or produce better quality products.

 Businesses thrive on good ideas, if you are not capturing employees’ ideas through a staff suggestion box, you could be missing out.

 To make sure that you have a successful employee suggestion scheme a) Make sure the feedback to people with suggestions are kept private (in case the idea is rejected) otherwise, people will be loath to stick their necks out by offering out-of-the-ordinary, and possibly your most fruitful, suggestions. b) Try and reward employees who come up with suggestions that are then implemented.

The Institute of Work Psychology at Sheffield University carried out research across 120 UK organisations and found that staff suggestion schemes can have an impact on employee creativity.
